Developing an Attitude Scale for Turkish Sign Language (TSL-AS)

In this study, the aim is to develop a measurement tool that can be used measure attitudes towards Turkish Sign Language (TSL). For purpose, researchers followed systematic process. The study group consists of students in special education departments three different universities' faculties spring semester 2019-2020 academic year. developed scale was applied 510 total. data obtained from were randomly divided into two; Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) performed with first (n1=297), and Confirmatory (CFA) second (n2=213). Within scope results EFA, it determined four factors (effort, necessity, avoidance, active use) 20 items. When construct validity tested CFA, seen values fit indexes at an acceptable level. internal consistency calculated Cronbach’s Alfa result set as .91. reliability coefficients ranged .70 .90. Findings showed valid reliable TSL.
